It’s more of a self-contained place as opposed to other servers that have a ton of connected realms and CRZ in open world. You see people from other servers sometimes but it’s not all the time. Realms still matter for guilds, the economy, and mythic raiding. Even if you don't care about mythic raiding, it's best to choose a realm that's very populous for your chosen faction unless you're joining a friend who's on a different sort of realm.
